Every story begins somewhere. For me, Sacred Rebel Press began with a simple belief: books have the power to change lives.

I've always loved a good story. They have a way of meeting us exactly where we are. Sometimes they challenge us to see life differently. Sometimes they help us heal. Sometimes they remind us that we are not alone. I spent most of my younger years reading and going into far away lands and impossible situations, which somehow made it easier for me to survive the school years. A thought-provoking novel or work of nonfiction enhances your life. I believe the right book can stay with us long after we've turned the final page. I have a library full of them!

After years of writing, teaching, and studying both creative writing and publishing, I realized I didn't just want to write books—I wanted to create a place where meaningful books could find a home. I wanted to build a publishing company that values creativity, craftsmanship, and the relationship between authors and readers.

That's how Sacred Rebel Press was born. Our name reflects something I believe deeply: “Sometimes the greatest act of courage is choosing authenticity over expectation, curiosity over certainty, and imagination over limitation.” Being a rebel isn't about rejecting everything around us. It's about having the courage to ask questions, explore new ideas, and remain open to growth while staying true to who we are.

At Sacred Rebel Press, we publish both fiction and nonfiction because transformation comes in many forms. Some books challenge the way we think while others transport us into unforgettable worlds. Some offer hope, others spark curiosity, and many simply remind us what it means to be human. Whatever the genre, our commitment is the same: to publish books that are thoughtfully written, beautifully produced, and worthy of the time our readers invest in them.

While on my own journey to publishing my stories and works of nonfiction, and through my experience getting my MFA in Creative Writing and my MA in publishing at Colorado Western University, I realized that writers struggle to find a place to publish their work.

Another part of Sacred Rebel Press is to create a community for writers where they can meet other authors, find a place to publish, and continue to learn and grow in the trade. We will have programs and classes that will get your story out into the world where it can live and breathe.
